The body can carry what the mind hasn’t found words for yet.

About

Welcome. I’m really glad you’re here.

My approach to therapy is built on one simple truth: the history we carry is rarely as far behind us as we imagine. I am deeply interested in what stays with us. Our first relationships, the old ways we learned to cope, and the patterns that keep turning up long after we think we’ve left them behind.

Before becoming a psychotherapist, I spent over ten years teaching art and special education. My time at Children’s Health Ireland at Crumlin Hospital was a turning point. Working with young people facing profound psychological challenges, I saw how often the most important things are communicated indirectly, through behavior, through the body, and through art when words just aren't enough. It changed the whole direction of my work.

My path was also shaped by my own early experiences. I had chronic tension and nervous system patterns that I’d carried since childhood, and for a long time, I just saw them as problems to get rid of. Therapy changed that. It helped me replace some of that frustration with curiosity, and meaning began to emerge. I learned firsthand that the body can carry what the mind hasn't found words for yet.

I chose to build my own private practice so I could have the space and flexibility to serve my clients better. Alongside my work at Living Life Counselling in Bray, this is where I support adults and adolescents through therapy, workshops, and groups.

To give you an idea of my background, I hold a MA in Integrative Psychotherapy (Clinical) and my postgraduate research focused on trauma, the body, and the therapeutic bond. My ongoing training includes Somatic and Trauma-informed approaches, Attachment, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Self-compassion, Adolescent mental health, and Neurodiversity.
